The Subtle Truth. 013 - Yoxide

Yoxide is a Music Producer/DJ from Rosario, Argentina that currently resides in Spain. He started producing big room around the age of 15 and slowly eased his way into creating dubstep. His first dubstep release was approximately 1 year ago and in such short time he has already released music on some major labels such as Buygore, DSV Audio and Emengy. It is clear that Yoxide has a bright future ahead of him. He has been receiving support from artists such as Effin, Tynan, Barely Alive and even heard his music being played out by Herobust at Couch Lands 2020 and Forbidden Kingdom. It is only a matter of time before we start seeing this artist on big lineups and have the opportunity to watch him perform live.

Without further ado, let’s get to know Yoxide better!

Q. Who was the first artist that drew you into the dubstep scene?

A.The first Artist/DJ that got me into EDM/dubstep music was DJ BL3ND a long time ago with his mixes on youtube. I think it was his RAGE MIX in 2012 that made me fall in love with EDM in general.

Q. Is there a big dubstep scene in Spain where you are currently residing?

A.I don’t think there’s a dubstep scene here in Spain, from what I know, which is not much.. there is an EDM scene especially in Ibiza but I don’t think it is dubstep based, it’s more commercial or house music I believe, but then again I’m not entirely sure…

Q. You recently had a big release on Buygore called “Find Us”. How do you feel about having a release on such an established label?

A. Find Us was my first release with a big label like Buygore. I’m amazed that the song is doing so well. I had a lot of people tweeting at me and even dm’ing me saying that the song is incredible and to me, that is just amazing. It’s honestly the only reason why I make music. Fun anecdote: One guy tweeted at me that he was playing a show and he had to discuss with another artist, who was also playing the show, who can play Find Us and they both decided to play it out and told me it went off both times. When I got that tweet I just couldn’t believe it, it was a great feeling!

Q. What are some dream labels you would hope to one day release on?

A. Personally, I would love to be on Disciple and NSD, those two have always been my two dream labels. Lately, I’ve also been interested in Cyclops Records, Welcome Records, and Halcyon. I love what all of them are putting out and how they are trying to push boundaries by supporting amazing underground artists and just putting out amazing music.

Q. While creating music, which part of a song do you enjoy making the most? Which part do you enjoy the least?

A. The part that I enjoy the most are the DROPS. I wouldn’t be able to tell you how many drop ideas (WIPS) I have stored but only a few turn into songs. The part that I enjoy the least…I wouldn’t say the part that I enjoy the least but the part that is the most challenging for me are the INTROS. I personally think I need more practice in that aspect and I’ve been trying to improve little by little on it.

Q. If you could go back in time 5 years, what advice would you give your younger self?

A. If I could go back in time I would tell myself to stop taking music so seriously, to try to enjoy the process and just have fun making it. That is what it all comes down to in the end.

Q. Time for a more random question: What are your top 3 favorite tv shows?

A. There are so many, I'm also a big fan of anime too so... but if I had to pick only three I would say: 1-Friends 2-Naruto 3-Demon Slayer

Q. Lastly, is there anything you want to share with our readers? (promote upcoming projects)

A. Yeah definitely, I have a few songs that are done and ready to be released. I'm talking to labels and waiting to see if they are interested in taking them. Not long ago I also released my CHAOS Remix, if anyone is interested in that.. so yeah...
