The Subtle Truth. 004 - Talia

Stepping away from the EDM scene for this one, I am stoked to introduce you all to Talia!

Talia is an independent singer, rapper and songwriter from Montreal, Canada. This young lady is an entertainer at heart and is always making people laugh. Her lyricism is on point, her voice is incredible, and her style is impeccable.

I’ve had Talia’s music on repeat ever since I discovered her so I am super excited to chat with her and allow you all to get to know her and her music. Let’s get to it.

Q. Talia, tell us a bit more about yourself. How did your passion for music start?

A. My passion for music started at a very young age. From as long as I can remember I always felt music. Whether I was singing, humming, or even dancing to a song, I knew I always loved music. There was never a sparking moment in my life that made me realize how I felt about it. I grew up with a mother who wanted to be a singer, a father who used to be a dj, and my grandfather who loves playing the guitar. I guess it's kinda in my DNA.

Q. Are you currently working solo, or do you have a team that helps you with your projects?

A. Currently, I am not signed to any labels or working with any, but I do have a strong team behind me; A group of individuals who all have the same strive and energy as myself. I'm very grateful for them and their mindsets because it encourages me as an individual to keep doing what I’ve been doing.

Q. Of all the songs you’ve released so far, which one is your favorite and why?

A. This is a tricky question to answer because all my songs have a different feel and vibe to them, not to mention the meaning behind the lyrics too play a big factor. I love all my songs equally, but if I really had to choose it would probably be ‘Attention on me’ or ‘Harley Quinn’.

Q. Who are your biggest musical inspirations?

A. My biggest musical inspirations would be Lauryn Hill, Arianna Grande, and J.Cole.

Q. Curious to know, do you listen to any EDM at all?

A. I don't really listen to that genre of music, but I'll definitely dance out like a goofball if it comes on.

Q. What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?

A. I'll just express how I spend my days off now because it's truthfully the only thing I've been doing and absolutely adore doing - I spend my days off at the studio with the team either creating new music, eating good food, or getting tattooed.

Q. Finally, do you have any projects you would like to promote and share with our readers?

A. One of my latest releases is Harley Quinn which was completely inspired off the character herself. I do plan on shooting a music video for it soon, so that is something that everyone should be looking out for. ;)

I highly suggest you all check out Talia's music.
